Judi's Story

Hi, I'm Judi!
Here is some insight as to who I am, how I got here and what I have to offer you.
Following college, I began a brief stint in the world of Market Research, but I quickly knew it was not where I was meant to be. I decided to go back to school to earn a Master of Arts degree in Teaching. I had a rewarding career teaching elementary school students for 26 years. I would probably still be teaching right now if life had not thrown me a curve ball.

In the Spring of 2019, life as I knew it had ended when I heard those three little words,
“You have cancer.”

I had breast cancer. These words took on a life of their own and set me on a path of tests, procedures, decisions, and treatment. It was quite the detour and a lot to process.
A year and a half later, my treatment had ended and the best way to describe the feeling was that it was like being on a Merry-Go-Round. I was just going, going, going. When the ride ended, I got off but did not know where I was. I no longer recognized my life. I certainly could have gone back to the path I was on before cancer, but I felt that cancer was a wakeup call. I started to be honest with myself and began to face the fact that in certain aspects of my life, I had just been going through the motions. The things that had once brought me fulfillment, really had not for some time. I realized I was not living authentically. That’s when I decided it was time to move my life, Beyond The Ribbon.

I began to make the necessary changes to create the life of my choosing. It’s hard to imagine ever calling cancer a gift, but it enabled me to see life through new lenses.

I learned the importance of finding joy and being true to myself. I have worked hard to create my new beginning. That is the silver lining for which I will always be grateful.

Part of this work was in becoming a Certified Life Coach. My passion has always been to help others and I would love to help you create the life of your choosing. You can live authentically and with a deep sense of inner peace and I have the tools to help you get there.
